Job OverviewCanadian Psychotherapy & Counselling Centre (CPCC) is a private practice in Toronto specializing in couples, anxiety, and trauma therapy. We are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally responsive care to a diverse client population.
We are seeking a trauma-informed Psychotherapist or Social Worker to join our team as an independent contractor. This role is ideal for a clinician with strong experience in complex and relational trauma who is passionate about supporting clients through deep healing work.
Role OverviewThe successful candidate will provide psychotherapy to individuals and couples, with a focus on trauma recovery, emotional regulation, and relational healing. You will work with clients navigating complex life experiences and support them through a safe, structured, and empathetic therapeutic process.
Responsibilities- Provide psychotherapy using trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Support clients through complex trauma processing and emotional regulation
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in line with regulatory standards
- Collaborate within a supportive and multidisciplinary team environment
- Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision as needed
Trauma Experience (Preferred)We are especially interested in clinicians with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Attachment trauma
- Betrayal trauma (e.g., infidelity, relational rupture)
- Birth trauma / perinatal trauma
- Childhood sexual abuse
- Complex PTSD (C-PTSD)
- Emotional and psychological abuse
- Family systems and families of survivors
- Intergenerational trauma
- Relational trauma and attachment wounds
- Dissociation and trauma-related coping responses
- Trauma in cultural and immigrant contexts
Qualifications- Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or related field
- Registered or eligible for registration with:
- College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or
- Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience (trauma-focused preferred)
- Foreign-trained professionals are welcome to apply
Preferred ModalitiesTraining or experience in:
- EMDR
- Trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT)
- Somatic or body-based approaches
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Attachment-based therapy
- Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Additional Assets- Experience working with couples and relationship dynamics
- Ability to provide services in additional languages (e.g., Farsi, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Mandarin,Tagalog and Hindi, Ucriania,Iran)
- Strong cultural competence and commitment to inclusive care
Position Details- Type: Independent Contractor
- Compensation: $100–$140 per session (based on experience)
- Schedule: Flexible (evenings/weekends preferred)
