Role OverviewAs a tutor with Totally Tutors, you will provide individualized, one-on-one academic support that is tailored to each student’s strengths, needs, and goals. Beyond reinforcing classroom learning, our tutors help students develop confidence, stronger learning habits, and greater independence.
Roles and Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one tutoring in the student’s home, with an adult present
- Travel to students’ homes within approximately a 20-minute commute by TTC or car
- Plan, prepare, and organize lesson materials tailored to each student’s needs, learning style, and academic goals
- Reinforce classroom learning and support homework completion, test preparation, study skills, and subject-specific skill development
- Adapt teaching strategies and explanations to suit the individual student
- Monitor student progress and provide clear, professional updates to parents and/or the tutoring team as needed
- Build a positive, encouraging, and productive learning environment
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and reliability in all interactions with students and families
Who We’re Looking ForOur tutors meet one or more of the following qualifications:
- Are in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, or are certified to teach in another Canadian province or territory
- Are current teacher candidates enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program
- Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian university or college

- Demonstrate strong knowledge of and familiarity with the Ontario Curriculum
