Who is Inline looking for?We are hiring a hands-on VoIP & IT Technician to support, deploy, and maintain VoIP phone systems, networks, and Microsoft 365 environments for our clients.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys real technical work, working directly with customers, and building systems the right way - not rushing tickets.
This is a field-heavy role.
You will spend a significant portion of your time:
- On customer sites across the GTA
- Installing, troubleshooting, and fixing real systems
- Working hands-on with networks, phones, and infrastructure
If you prefer sitting behind a desk all day, this role is not for you.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and deploy VoIP phone systems on-site (SIP, UCaaS)
- Install and troubleshoot network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Diagnose and resolve call quality and connectivity issues in real time
- Perform site visits for installs, upgrades, and emergency service calls
- Work directly with clients to explain issues and solutions clearly
- Coordinate with carriers and vendors to resolve service problems
- Document completed work and configurations properly
- Prep and stage equipment for upcoming installs
- Assist with Microsoft 365 and user-level support
- Review network setups and recommend improvements
- Maintain documentation and internal systems
- Managing and maintaining network monitoring and alerting tools
- Configuring, documenting and managing network security including firewalls, intrusion prevention, incident response and escalation, security policy articulation and compliance checking
- Coordinating service calls and working with service providers to resolve problems and malfunctions
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
- Configure Servers in a virtual environment
Requirements:- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Network/VoIP Administration or related field
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, with specific expertise in VoIP and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Strong networking skills, including experience with LAN, WAN, VPN, and firewall setups.
- Fluent English in communications with customers
- Prior routing and switching experience
- Network Security Fundamentals
- Proven experience with SIP/VoIP
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified, Linux+, CCNA) are a plus.
Desirable, but not mandatory- Good knowledge of Linux and SSH
- Data Center server maintenance
- Good knowledge of Asterisk, Freeswitch, Polycom, Yealink, NEC, Avaya, Netsapiens
Desirable, but not mandatory- Server virtualization using VMware
- Good knowledge of Firewalls - Cisco, Mikrotik, Sonicwall, Ubiquiti
